ChargePath is a static website providing free calculator tools for electric vehicle owners. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights under applicable privacy laws including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

Our tools — including the EV Range Calculator and Charging Cost Estimator — run entirely in your browser. No calculation inputs or outputs are transmitted to our servers. We do not maintain a user database.

2. Information We Collect

ChargePath collects minimal information necessary to serve the website:

• Server logs: Standard web server logs that record IP addresses, page requests, browser type, and referring URLs. These are retained for up to 30 days for security and performance purposes and are not used to build individual user profiles.
• Cookies (functional): We set a single cookie ("ck") when you accept our cookie notice. This cookie stores only a "1" to prevent the notice from reappearing. No personal data is stored in this cookie.
• Fonts: We load fonts from Google Fonts. Google's servers receive your IP address as part of the font request. Google's privacy policy governs this processing.

We do not collect names, email addresses, location data, or any information you enter into our calculator tools.

3. Cookies

We use only one first-party cookie:

• Name: ck
• Purpose: Records that you have acknowledged the cookie notice
• Duration: Stored in localStorage (persists until cleared)
• Data stored: The string "1" only — no personal identifiers

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, third-party analytics scripts, or session recording tools. You may clear this cookie at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage for this domain.

4. How We Use Information

Server log data is used solely to:

• Diagnose technical errors and maintain uptime
• Identify and block abusive automated traffic
• Aggregate (non-individual) traffic statistics to understand which pages are used

We do not sell, share, or disclose log data to third parties except as required by law.

Server logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and then deleted automatically. The functional cookie persists in your browser until you clear it manually. We do not retain calculator inputs or outputs at any point.

7. Children's Privacy

ChargePath is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please use the contact form on this page and we will address the matter promptly.

8. Third-Party Services

ChargePath loads fonts from Google Fonts APIs. This is the only third-party service included on our pages. We do not use analytics services (Google Analytics, Hotjar, etc.), advertising networks, or social media embed scripts. Unsplash images in our blog posts are loaded from Unsplash CDN servers; Unsplash's privacy policy governs those requests.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as our practices evolve. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
